A Abecitrus - The Brazilian Association for Citrus Exporters - represents the sector which produces and exports Brazilian frozen concentrate orange juice (FCOJ), the final link in a productive chain that congregates, in the State of São Paulo - responsible for 98% of Brazil's production -, 10 processing plants and 19,000 groves.

The citrus sector employs about 400,000 people and is the essential economic activity in 322 cities in the State of São Paulo and 11 in the State of Minas Gerais, generating foreign currency to the tune of US$1,5 billion a year and corresponding to 53% of all FCOJ produced in the world, or 80% of the FCOJ offered on the international market.

It is a leading edge sector of Brazilian agro-industry. It operates with the best technology and has the best available transport logistics system in the world fit to supply the Five Continents.
